Comprehensive evaluation is a sc

Comprehensive Evaluation of Schools is a scientific method that depends on standard tools and aids the evaluation of every school element (management, teachers, students, school elements … etc.).

Comprehensive Evaluation for Schools General Department is directly under the supervision of the Deputy Minister of Education. This department has 42 Comprehensive Evaluation Directorates distributed in several districts. Each Comprehensive Evaluation Directorate has to prepare and execute an evaluation plan, send evaluation reports and accomplishment reports to the Comprehensive Evaluation for Schools General Department, follow up schools' work plans, discuss and give suggestions of the optional methods for developing the evaluation process and start up evaluation training courses for new members. The Comprehensive Evaluation Directorates in each district are managed by the General Education Directorate. The Comprehensive Evaluation Directorates in each district has to evaluate all types of schools including general education schools, girls' education schools, foreign education schools and national education schools.

Stages

First: Pre-Evaluation Stage

  1.  Identification of team members and appointment of team leader.
  2.  Notification of the school and sending a copy of Evaluation General Framework.
  3.  School and team communication (gathering information and explaining evaluation goals and procedures.)
  4.  Application of the Standard Student Test.
  5.  Attending a meeting between the evaluation team and the parents/guardians of the students.
  6.  Conducting a team meeting between the team leader and team members to distribute the responsibilities.
  7.  All axes will be evaluated during the evaluation days.
  8.  Entering all data and evaluation plan criteria in a computer program (SHAMEL 2).

Second: Evaluation Stage

  1. Preparing school staff for evaluation process on the first day.
  2. Discussing the school pre-results. e.g. test results.
  3. Collecting indications and evidence.
  4. Holding a daily meeting (Team members) to discuss the current work and the next day's plans and tasks.
  5. Starting a Lesson Evaluation Article on the second day.
  6. Writing a report.
  7. Holding a team members and a school principal meeting by the end of the last day to:
  8. Give an oral report to the school principal including positive and negative results.
  9. Give the school principal a work plan form with oral explanation.

Third: Post-Evaluation Stage

  1. Preparing the final report in two weeks time after evaluation final date.
  2. Sending a copy of the final report to the school principal and another one to the Educational Director.
  3. Asking the school principal to prepare a work plan containing steps for positive consolidation and negatives treatment.
  4. Sending the school work plan to the Directorate of Comprehensive Evaluation for School within forty days after receiving the report.
  5. Notifying the school of the approval of the work plan to start the execution.
  6. Following up the school plan execution by the Educational Directorate.
  7. The Comprehensive Evaluation for School department prepares a time plan to follow up the execution of the school work plan.
